BJ has been involved in the soccer community for nearly a decade. A goalkeeper by trade, he has acquired coaching experience at the youth, club, and high school levels. BJ has coached at Kettle Moraine for the past four seasons and is the current head coach of the boys' program. He continues to pursue his passion for helping athletes become the best versions of themselves, using his education and experience as a strength and conditioning coach. He places an emphasis on athletic development, particularly recovery skills, speed, and strength.

 Speed and Agility Skills 

  1. Acceleration and Sprinting: Drills to improve start speed and short sprints, helping players quickly close in on the ball or opponents.

  2. Agility Ladder Drills: Focuses on quick footwork, coordination, and balance, essential for navigating tight spaces on the field.

  3. Change of Direction: Teaches how to pivot and switch directions efficiently, crucial for dodging defenders.

  4. Reaction Time: Exercises to improve reaction to visual or verbal cues, enhancing players' response times in unpredictable situations.

  5. Plyometric Drills: Builds explosive power and jump height for better headers, tackles, and aerial control.
     

 Soccer Ball Skills 

  1. Dribbling Control: Techniques for close control dribbling, using both feet to maneuver in tight spaces.

  2. First Touch: Drills that focus on trapping and controlling the ball on first contact, setting up the next play smoothly.

  3. Passing Accuracy: Exercises aimed at improving precision in short and long passes with both feet.

  4. Shooting Techniques: Focuses on body positioning, foot placement, and follow-through for more accurate and powerful shots.

  5. 1v1 Attacking and Defending: Teaches how to face off against an opponent with control and strategy, whether trying to get past them or defend.
     

 Game Awareness and Conditioning 

  1. Spatial Awareness: Activities that improve awareness of surroundings, teammates, and opponents.

  2. Endurance Drills: Builds stamina to keep up speed and agility through an entire match.

  3. Small-Sided Games: Allows players to practice skills in realistic, game-like scenarios where they can apply speed, dribbling, and passing under pressure.
